Josh will need a flight recheck on a couple items & a combination of oral recheck/homework. # EOC flight Overall climbs were power then pitch instead of the other way around  Did not angle towards final at hold short line for any takeoffs.  We discussed this in the debrief and I guessed correctly he initially learned to fly a low wing airplane. ## _Flight recheck items:_ steep turns Unusual attitude Engine failure Ground reference Soft t/o & soft landing ## FLIGHT NOTES Ground ops: sat Normal t/o: sat Xc departure: sat Diversion: sat No premaneuver checklist. Good radio calls tho *Steep turn: R- no wing raise b4 turn, too shallow. No trim/ L- sat. Slow flight clean: altitude marginal, consistent 100’ low. Ensure R rudder being applied during initial recovery  *P off turn stall: did not have power all the way idle P on stall w/PFD covered: sat BAI: declare emergency/ who to call in the event of emergency? Not St Pete FSS 180 turn: ensure standard rate turn (not 30 deg) *Navigation: unable to center VOR CDI *Unusual attitudes: nose down bank, pulled aft w/o reducing power. Nose high was correct *Engine out: a/s consistently high (80+). 90 on final w/10 deg flaps only. Large field so it would have worked but was not properly stabilized *S turns: lost 250’, used road parallel to wind instead of perpendicular (entered/a crosswind. Coordination issues throughout) *Normal landing: 900’ upon entering the D, did not retrim after power reduction. Managed to adjust & maintain that altitude. TD pt 1000s- just short. Flat Short t/o: sat Short landing: TD pt 500s- sat *Soft t/o: did not have aft control pressure during entry onto runway or during takeoff roll. Was more like a normal t/o Soft landing w/50’ obstacle @ threshold: don’t focus on having a TD point on 1000s, come in higher, land farther down instead of dropping it in barely clearing obstacle  # EOC Oral ## _Oral recheck items:_ Slips/skids/ spin aerodynamics Left turning tendencies Maneuvering speed  ## _Homework_: See links below, will email additional questions Review Mx logs Annual can cover a 100 hr?  *Basic med requirements/ limitations?* *Private pilot privileges & limitations* Requirements to be a safety pilot 91.109 Trough- high pressure?  Wx products valid times: [https://www.blondsinaviation.com/weather-products-legends/](https://www.blondsinaviation.com/weather-products-legends/) Microburst wx characteristics  Fog formation science *Why Va changes w/weight?
