## Attitude Instrument Flying Methods
- [ ] review [[Application of Attitude Instrument Flying Methods]]
- walked through scenario of teaching student who is high on glideslope
- try to avoid, as much as possible, the explanation of just "changing pitch" or "changing heading", you always want to emphasize being as intentional as possible when making adjustments and noticing those changes
- continue to review autopilot limitations (GFC 700 autopilot)
- this is one of those things that people tend to forget about until they are making a mistake with it while flying

- continue to review our checklist and preflight procedures to get more comfortable
- overall good job with basic flight maneuvers via instrument reference
- continue to practice visual maneuvers and getting more comfortable with the sight picture from the 172 (this will allow you to be more comfortable from the instructors position when you will be using visual references the majority of the time as your student is flying by instrument reference)
- continue to review attitude instrument flying methodologies (control and performance / primary and supporting) and explanations of each one
- review autopilot limitations
- spent time reviewing checklist / going over dispatch procedures and flight school operations

- [ ] review [AIM 7-1-3: Cold Temperature on Barometric Altimeters](https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/atpubs/aim_html/chap7_section_3.html)
### Magnetic Compass
- [ ] make sure that you do not recommend testing the magnetic compass by placing something magnetic near it
- [ ] review [CGP Grey: Runway Numbers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSRmfNDk87s)
- magnetic dip
- you can think of the magnetic compass as running parallel to the lines of flux
- [[Heading Indicator and Magnetic Compass]]
- You can utilize the magnetic [[Magnetic Compass Turns Guide.pdf]] for teaching through compass turns
- this is a good read to go more in depth on compass errors: [[Compass Errors (Williams 2001).pdf]]
- Compass turning errors
- ONES
- UNOS
- ANDS
### Turn Coordinator / Turn and Slip Indicator
- remember that the turn coordinator a gyro that is tilted to allow for roll + yaw rate indications
> [!info] Turn Coordinator vs Slip and Skid Indicator
> | Instrument | Gyro Tilt | Sensitive To | What You See on Roll-In |
> | ----------------------- | --------- | --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
> | Turn and Slip Indicator | 0° | Yaw rate only | Needle lags until coordinated turn is established |
> | Turn Coordinator | ~30° | Roll + yaw rate | Mini airplane immediately banks in direction of roll |
### G1000
- [ ] plan to come back to this topic

## Navigation Equipment
### GPS / GNSS
- remember that 3 satellites are required for 2d position, 3 satellites are required for 3d position
- WAAS
- [ ] review [FAA: WAAS (How it Works)](https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ato/service_units/techops/navservices/gnss/waas/howitworks)
- [ ] continue to review PBN / RNP / WAAS / GPS in the AIM (Chapter 1)
### VOR / DME
- [ ] review [[VHF Omnirange (VOR)]]
- [ ] review [[Distance Measuring Equipment (DME)]]
