# 12/9/2023
- privileges and limitations
- remember that pro rata only means an even share
- medical example --> commercial pilot who is 41 years old, has a first class medical, got the medical 2 years ago
- remember that while the privelges will change over time with your medical certificate, the actual medical certificate stays the same --> a first class medical certificate will ALWAYS be a first class certificate
- review required inspections --> what operations require the VOR inspection
- review autopilot limitations for the GFC 700
- review icing video that I sent you --> NEVER FLY INTO KNOWN ICING CONDITIONS (from the POH)
# 12/8/2023
- don't forget to check the rudder when doing the flight control check
- slow flight (IR) --> great job / speeds and altitudes were consistent
- autopilot --> good job with switching modes / climbs / descents
- unusual attitude recovery
- VOR intercept --> ALWAYS VERIFY the correct frequency and identifier on the G1000 or listen to the nav frequency
- when headed TO the station always set the reciprocal radial compared to the one you are on
- good job doing checklists while under the hood
- decrease your aiming point to touchdown point distance on the short field landing --> remember 5 times ground speed on final approach is a good estimate

# 12/7/2023
- reviewed phase 6 / 7 / 9 phase quizzes and uploaded them
- VFR weather minimums --> class E above 10,000' MSL is 5 sm
- reviewed traffic pattern operations
- reviewed frequencies
- reviewed emergency / abnormal procedures --> alternator failure / radio failure
- remember with a radio failure squawk 7600 instead of 7700 / consider going to a controlled airport at night because it will be illuminated --> with no radio pilot controlled lighting will not be usable
-
# 12/5/2023
- reviewed night operations
- reviewed night illusions
- route planning
- reviewed airspace / alert areas
- great decision to return back to the airport when the clouds were lower than you were expecting --> at night it can be especially difficult to identify clouds
-
# 12/3/2023
- make sure to turn the flight director off when disengaging the autopilot
-
# 12/2/2023
- remember that you need a clearance to go from the gulf run up area back to the runway
- class E above 10,000 MSL is 1 sm horizontal distance
- 91.103: required to plan for alternates available for any flight not in the vicinity of the airport
- remember to always use rule of thumb initial calculations during a diversion
- you don'e need a specific endorsement for each airport on your cross country
- lose procedures --> start a circle and conserve fuel before attempting to detainee location / try to be as accurate as possible when drawing lines on the VOR radial, use the foreflight ruler so that you can be very close to your actual position, also important to circle during this so that you don't move away from that position
- diversion --> good job with the initial turn, but make sure to calculate wind correction angle and think a little bit more about the route that you want to take
- if you don't have GPS and want to identify an airport, you can always figure out which radial it is on on a nearby VOR and use DME or a second VOR to figure out how far away from the airport you are
- for upcoming cross country flight, make navlog
# 11/30/2023
- always read back that you are cleared to cross any runway to confirm
- get the weather before starting taxi
- good job with navigation
- remember to click to activate the flight plan
- great job with navigation
- radio calls were good, but try to slow down just a bit when making call
# 11/28/2023
- don't forget to get the weather and set altimeter before taxiing
- always check the wind sock before entering the runway so that you can add crosswind corrections
- steep turns --> try to establish 45 degrees and hold it there without coming out on your bank
- turns around a point --> try to bring in your steeper bank angle faster when passing the upwind point, especially with stronger winds
- short field --> you can estimate aiming point to touchdown point using 5 * ground speed
-
# 11/18/2023
- takeoff
- good job with crosswind corrections
- turns around a point
- nice job
- good wind
- s turns
- when entering on the upwind --> hold the shallow bank a little bit longer
- landings
- great job with sideslip
- slightly flat --> if you're floating far down the runway either go around or continue normally if you have the adequate runway remaining for the landing --> never try to touch down early
# 11/10/2023
- great job
- stall with bank --> good job
- unusual attitudes --> great job

- make sure to continue to add back pressure to make the landing smoother
- don't add quite so much power as to not make the float too long
