# Recommendations - student needs to update checklist to new version - student does not do checklist unprompted -> dedicated practice should be used to enforce checklist usage before returning to airplane - student does not respond to radio calls or notice when being called -> instructor should require practice with live ATC / tracking ADSB and active participation to improve performance - student lacks situational awareness and does not notice abnormal conditions with the airplane -> instructor should make note of pointing out abnormal engine sounds / abnormal conditions and intentionally create abnormal situations to test ability to notice - student does not know SOPs -> instructor should test on SOPs before each flight and make it a requirement to have SOPs memorized before each flight for the tasks of the lesson and enforce either not flying (switch to ground trainer) or marking student as unprepared if SOPs are not memorized # General Notes - student is utilizing outdated checklist - student did not use checklist in flight or after landing - when performing ground lean, student continued to bring out mixture excessively lean, appeared confused as to why RPM was low, and then left power idle at about 600 RPM, causing low vacuum annunciation to continually turn on and off with engine barely running (noticeable from sound and shaking) but did not note anything of it - had trouble understanding ATIS - did not address executive ground when calling for taxi, simply stated "this is 464ER" - did not read back runway 7 at alpha 7 or cross runway 13, ground read the instructions again, student started taxiing and didn't notice - left annunciatior panel test on meaning all lights on audio panel were stuck on, noticed and corrected when switching to tower - student did not notice takeoff clearance from tower -> needs a lot of work on radio communications - took off with window open, did not notice until in the crosswind turn at about 1,000 ft - flew to lake apopka at 1,000 ft (briefed that I wanted him to climb us up to 3,000 as we were heading out) student flew at about 75 knots and 1900 RPM, when I instructed him to climb, did not set full power or do climb checklist - asked what speed he was targeting in cruise climb, stated 90 knots ## Slow Flight Landing Config - asked to setup for slow flight, immediately reduced power did a power off stall (not following SOPs either for stall) did maneuver directly into a cloud - need to review how to properly make radio calls and position reports -> on the radio never addressed who he was talking to - asked to setup again for slow flight - heading deviation of 40 degrees - altitude -200 ft ## Steep Turns - bank +/- 15 degrees - altitude 220 ft - rolled out 45 degrees past point ## Power on Stall - did not climb after stall ## Power off stall - did not descend properly, went to 45 knots indicated, stated now lose 100 feet, then went into stall - 30 degree heading deviation during recovery from lack of right rudder
