# Progress Check Passed
# Recheck Items from Previous Progress Check
- [x] Emergency Procedures (Engine Failure)
- [x] Ground Reference Maneuver (Turns around a Point)
- [x] Situational Awareness
# General Notes
- make sure that you switch to the practice area frequency when you enter the practice area so that you can listen for other people making position reports
# Emergency Procedures
- good job verifying checklist
- chose X04 as landing spot (engine failed at 2,500 ft and 5.4 NM away)
# Ground Reference Maneuver
- initially selected intersection in the traffic pattern for X04 -> was able to identify that this would not be a good place to do the maneuver
- ==**the wind indication on the PFD is not accurate while turning (this means that you will think the wind is continually shifting when it is in fact not)**==
- do not solely rely on the PFD for wind indications, in your case there were two fires nearby producing large amounts of smoke which could hav easily been utilized to determine the approximate wind direction
# Situational Awareness
- good job paying attention to cloud layers and not climbing too close to them
