# General Notes
- make sure to set standby altimeter -> if you have a problem with the G1000 and need to use it you don't want to also have to remember what the altimeter setting is
- remember that you don't need to get a frequency change from the tower, assuming you are outside of their airspace -> still a good idea to stay on frequency for a bit going out to the practice area though as you can listen for traffic coming in / out
