Some (but not all) NWS Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs) produce a soaring forecast. If available, these provide highly useful soaring weather information, designed specifically for glider pilots. ### Accessing Soaring Forecasts First, locate the NWS WFO closest to your soaring location. Individual WFOs organize their web pages differently, so some searching may be required. Not all WFOs produce a soaring forecast; they are most common in the Western US. ![[SW CA soaring forecast location.png]]![[OTX Soaring Page.png]] ### Soaring Forecast Contents Contents are not standardized, but include information specifically significant to soaring flight, and [[Skew-T Log-P Derived Parameters]]. Many sites include an information page that provides a description of each value. ![[OTX Soaring Forecast Information.jpeg]] ### Examples ![[BOU Soaring Forecast 10Oct2024.png]] ![[Moriarty Soaring Forecast 10Oct2024.jpeg]] ![[OTX Soaring Forecast 10Oct2024.jpeg]] ![[TWC Soaring Forecast 10Oct2024.jpeg]] ![[SGX Soaring Forecast 10Oct2024.jpeg]]
